An Exquisite Margarita
Wait! Am I a mixologist too? Of course not! But after business is done there are things that must occupy the night and a good drink is one of those things.
In celebration of National Margarita Day I am pleased to offer up for you consideration and enjoyment my Exquisite Margarita recipe. I created this modeled after Pappasito’s Exquisito Margarita. Enjoy!
4 oz lime juice w/ lemon (basically this is the juice of 4 small limes plus juice of ½ lemon)
3 oz simple syrup
2 oz tequila (I use 100% Blue Agave)
¾ oz Grand Mariner
¾ oz St. Germain
Shake all vigorously with ample crushed ice. Rim cold glasses with salt if desired and pour into 2 chilled margarita glasses.
If preferred, blend vigorously with adequate crushed ice to make “frozen” margaritas.
NOTES: Vary the simple syrup for sweetness. Consider zero-calorie sweetener instead of simple syrup to make a “skinny” version. Your choice of tequila will also influence the flavor.
To make your own simple syrup, dissolve 1 part sugar into 1 part very warm water just until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let cool and bottle. Syrup may be stored in the refrigerator for up to 6 months. To vary the taste, try using turbinado sugar.
